Question:

Frequent urination during pregnancy?

My sister is 14, pregnant in 32nd week. I managed to help her with the nightmares (my previous question). Now we have another problem. I don;t know a lot about pregnancy and since I'm her guardian now I ask you for help. My sister urinates often. Recently it happens in bed too. For 1 week she has peed in her pants 3 times (during day time) and twice during nights. It means around 5 times a week. Is this normal and what could we do to stop it?

  1. It is normal, it is also harder to hold urine during pregnancy, make more frequent trips to the toilet even if she only has a trickle, lean forward to make sure bladder is empty, and limit drinks too close to bed time, also double check with Dr in case of urinary infection. But it is really normal in later stages of pregnancy for baby to press on bladder. Good luck

  2. yeah, the baby is putting pressure on her bladder, i sometimes get it even i just went to the bathroom ... Tell her, if she had to go to the bathroom, sit there for an extra minute, make sure all the urine came out, b/cuz sometime i thought i was finished, right when i walked out the door, i peed on my pant :-)

  3. Urination is more frequent in pregnancy, but she could also have a urinary tract infection which can also be more prevalent in pregnancy. She should be checked by her Dr to be sure. Any infection can cause preterm labor.

  4. hi, your sister peeing ALOT is normal during pregnancy sweetie, don't stress about it. it just means her baby is putting alot of pressure on her bladder and she can't control it. it happens to some woman through there pregnancy's and i know it might seem embarrassing but its normal and common. try some cranberry juice(you can buy it in all super markets), this helps with controlling your bladder and will make it alot stronger, also it comes in different flavor's and my cousin used it alot when she was little(not pregnant) cause she had bladder problems like this and it got her through. good luck and congrats to your sister.

  5. Yes. That's normal and what the h**l is your 14yr old sister doing having s*x anyways? I hate to sound rude, but I hope she doesn't keep it. And there is nothing you can do to stop it, the baby is resting on her bladder

  6. Its normal to pee a lot when your pregnant because the baby is sitting on her bladder, she can do kegel exercises to help control it.
