  1. Corned beef and cabbage.

  2. I like Spring cabbage which has very green flat leaves, its also called Spring Greens...though its available most of the year these days in the UK.

Remove some of the stork cut into chunky pieces and wash in a sink full of cold water.

Cook 1/2 white onion slice thinly in a little butter slowly until lightly brown. The add the cabbage and 1.5 cups of cold water and cook with the lid on, stirring occasionally.

Whilst the cabbage is cooking grill 3-4 rashers of smoked bacon until it is crispy, drain the bacon on paper towel.

When the cabbage is tender drain well.  Season with salt and pepper add a small k**b of butter if you wish and then crumble up the bacon and stir in.

You also might like to add 1/4 teaspoon of cumin or caraway seeds when the cabbage is cooking.

  3. Melt a little butter in the pan and add in chopped onions and saute a few minutes then add in your chopped cabbage with salt, pepper and caraway seeds and cook until desired tenderness.  (You can add in some water or chicken broth if a little steam is needed to cook the cabbage through.) This is good served with sausages, pork chops and chicken.

  4. If you have alot of cabbage you should make sourkraut.  I think you can freeze it.  Or there is a polish dish that is really yummy.  Brown 1lb of ground polish sausage (KENNY and CARL's) then add your cabbage (1/2 head if large) to same pan cover and cook low stirring occasionally.  when the cabbage is cooked add cooked eggnoodles (if you don't mind the carbs) and season.  YUM!!

  5. I love cabbage rolls so that's what I do with it.

  6. cole slaw!

  7. shred it add shredded carrots some dressing and WHALLA cole slaw
