Hi everybody!

My dad was painting the bathroom and that was where my two male robo dwarf hamsters were spending the evening. Well, as you probably all know, wet paint sends off these awful smelling fumes in the room. I guess my dad didn't realize that my hamsters were breathing it! I didn't know that my dad would be painting the bathroom today so I had no clue about this whole situation until I went upstairs to see what my dad was doing. I hurried up and took my hamsters down stairs on the couch so they could breathe. I asked my dad how long he had been painting and he said 20-30 minutes. QUESTION 1: Will my hamsters be okay? They are now breathing clean air in the family room. And I don't know how long it will take until the fumes stop and clears out so QUESTION 2: When can I put my hamsters back in the bathroom to play on the floor? When the paint dries tomorrow I will open the window to help clean it out.

Thanks in advance and I will really like your answers!!

  1. Your hamsters will probably be okay. Just next time you paint the house, try to have them stay at a different place (ie, your friends).

To be safe, wait 4 days before the paint dries. Better safe then sorry!

  2. they may not be okay if the are left with thoses fumes for 2 long. do u have any neigbors or friends that could posibly look after them? just dont leave them in the bathroom for id say 2 or 3 days. but after they could defenetly go back on the floor.

    hope this helps!

    animals rock!

  3. Your hamsters will probably be okay  at leat it wasn't and hour or two and you should wait until all the paint fumes are gone and the paint is dry. And since your hamsters are breathing clean air now they should be fine.

  4. keep them in your room for.....a week?mabey 5 days.
