  1. freshwater "sharks" are NOT true sharks, they have just been labelled that to sell them. they are either catfish or cyprinids (a relation of fish like the danio).

it could either be a Pangasius catfish, either Pangasius sanitwongsei (Paroon Shark) or Pangasius hypophthalmus (Iridescent Shark). The Paroon needs a 600-1000 US gallon tank, the Iridescent needs a 350-400 US gallon tank. They are usually sold while only a few inches long, do not buy unless you can cater for a fish several feet long!

Or a Columbian Shark Catfish, Arius seemani, these get sold as freshwater, but they actually need brackish water when juvenile and full marine when mature, and get to around 2ft long! Again, sold while only a few inches, avoid!

Do not buy any shark-like fish from a petstore if they haven't included a scientific name for you to go home and research before you buy. Many "sharks" either grow enormous or have very specific living requirements, some are quite aggressive.

  2. if your loooking for a freshwater shark its the hammerhead shark color black and there is also white grows around 20 inches.  They look strong and deadly however just ate fish food and some mixed them along in koi ponds.  Some says its a catfish shark  http://www.fishlore.com/profile-iridesce...

  3. Pangasius hypophthalmus gets a LOT larger than 20 inches.
