Freshman!! First day is tomorrow :/?

Question

Can anyone give me a little help?? The first day is just a half-day so it's not really the real deal yet. Any tips or tricks of the trade?? Anything would help!!

Don't go to school acting stuck up or like you're a hot shot. You're doomed if you do. ESPECIALLY if you play sports. Getting picked on by upperclassmen is a given, so get ready. The upperclassmen, especially the seniors, are going to show up and think they own the place. Relax and try to have fun. It's really not that bad.

I've been there, being a senior myself. What you can do is just try to make new friends, but also stick with your old ones. It's good to have connections in upper-class. Greet yourself to you teachers, and if you have the choice to choose your seat in class. Choose a seat next to a mixture of people you do and don't know. Remember: make as many friends as you can your freshmen year. It will help in the long run. Hope this helps.

First day of high school, woo woo!

* Get 8 hours of sleep the night before the first day, and as often as possible throughout the year. Sleep is key!

* Eat a good breakfast that will give you energy (complex carbs, e.g. peanut butter and toast)

* Set out your clothes the night before you wear them.

* Don't gossip about what people did during the summer.

* Make it a point to introduce yourself to some new people with a big, genuine smile and a compliment. (EX: I love those shoes, where did you get them?)

* BEFRIEND THE TEACHERS. Don't be a suckup, but definitely be respectful to them. Don't talk while they're talking, don't be obvious about texting in class, don't be rude to them. This will serve you well over the years!

* Get a planner to write your assignments in. High school is the time to get serious about academics.

* Don't drink, do drugs, smoke, or be promiscuous.

* Use the bathroom at lunch, not during class.

* Try to stay out of the way of cranky upperclassmen who are just waiting to graduate.

* Go glance around the school ahead of time and make a note of where your classes will be so that you aren't lost on the first day.

* Find a friend who will have the same lunch as you and make plans to meet up at a specific table so you won't be alone.

* Bring one of your new friends with you to that table!

* Be confident, volunteer in class, but don't be cocky.

* Keep to the right in the hallway to sort of beat the flow of traffic.

* Don't touch the toilet handle, sink faucet, or door handle of the bathroom with your hands -- use elbows, feet, anything that will work. You'd be shocked at how many germs are in there -- gross.

* Every morning BEFORE you go to school, be sure your phone is on silent.

* Be yourself!

Are you talking about high school?  I'm sorry, but I have no help for you.  I was quite the shy kid in high school, so it was kind of like I blacked out for that period in my life.  I didn't have a large circle of friends or any viable prospects for a romantic life.

I just know that if I could return, I'd make more effort to find the people who like what I like.  I want to make films.  I wish I had found a group of friends who would have made backyard movies with me.  I just wish I would have had that experience.  What do you love and what do you expect to be once school is over?  Do it now.  Whatever it is, no matter how amatuerish the outcome, you'll be glad you did once you enter the professional field.  Just remember that high school isn't everything.

wow 1st day of high school cool u have nothing to worry about, if u can u should walk to school with one of ur friends or go in the same car together then u won't be lost by ur self, well if u do get lost there is people around that u can ask. I'm going to be a sophomore this year and last year i was fine it's not that bad trust me, and i'm also the shy girl so i think it was harder for me then some other people but once u see your friends u will be fine and don't worry it's just a half day, btw there is nothing to worry about, if ur worried about losing ur friends u will find new ones, and u will still have ur old ones too. good luck, wait wat i'm i saying u don't need it but just in case. =)
