Friday Night SmackDown: Matt Hardy vs Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre
This is the match all were waiting for the past one month. The arrogance and self-confidence of Drew McIntyre reached new heights when he asked the chairman of WWE, Mr. McMahon, to suspend the wrestling license of Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy, who is wrestling in WWE for the last 9 years, has earned respect and fame for himself from the wrestling crowd. Matt Hardy has fought in many historic wrestling matches throughout his storied wrestling career. All friends and foes respect the fighting skills of Hardy and hold him in high regard.
It all started when the Scottish born wrestling superstar, Drew McIntyre, made some contacts in the wrestling establishment and used negative tactics against any wrestler who tried to stand against him. But Matt Hardy stood against the challenge of Drew McIntyre and challenged him to a match. However, instead of fighting in a one on one match, Drew McIntyre used his friendships in the wrestling establishment to cancel the license of Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy was furious and was looking for revenge.
The rivalry between Matt Hardy and Drew McIntyre reached new heights when Drew McIntyre attacked Matt Hardy from behind and smashed his skull on the steel steps. Matt Hardy vowed to take revenge and smashed Drew McIntyre’s face on the ring floor after Drew McIntyre lost a title match against Kofi Kingston for the Inter Continental Championship. Then came the moment when the General Manager of SmackDown, Teddy Long, announced the match between Matt Hardy and Drew McIntyre. The crowd was on its feet as it heard the announcement of the match.
Drew McIntyre entered the ring and walked angrily and arrogantly towards the ring and waited for the entrance of Matt Hardy. Then Matt Hardy entered the arena and the crowd went ecstatic and greeted the veteran fighter. The two wrestlers watched each other with anger and rage and squared off in the ring. Drew McIntyre went on to the attack and delivered effective kicks on the abdomen of Matt Hardy. Drew McIntyre then picked up Matt Hardy and slammed his body on the ring floor.
Matt Hardy countered the dominant attitude of Drew McIntyre by picking him up and throwing him out of the ring. He then grabbed the arm of Drew McIntyre and threw him on the steel steps. Both wrestlers were fighting as it was their last match. Both wrestlers went for the cover multiple times but kicked out before the referee could count to three. It seemed for a moment that the match might never finish as no wrestler was ready to back down.
But then it all ended when Matt Hardy executed his effective wrestling manoeuvre called the “Twist of Fate”. In this manoeuvre, Matt Hardy grabs the neck of his opponent and smashes it on the ring floor before giving it a hard jerk in the air. So Matt Hardy quickly went for cover after delivering this move, and the referee counted to three without any interruption with both shoulders of Drew McIntyre touching the ring floor. Many thought of it as the climax of the rivalry when the referee raised the hand of Matt Hardy as the winner of the match.
There was more to come for the already battered Drew McIntyre as the General Manager of SmackDown, Teddy Long made an announcement. Teddy Long, who has become an enemy of Drew McIntyre, announced that the visa of the Scottish superstar had expired and Drew McIntyre was living illegally in United States. The immigration officials came to the arena and took Drew McIntyre with them. Many wrestling fans believe that the rivalry between Matt Hardy and Drew McIntyre is far from over and Drew McIntyre will use his contacts in the wrestling establishment to stay in the United States and to beat Matt Hardy. Keep your fingers crossed as Friday Night SmackDown unfolds next week with more nonstop action.
