Question:

Fridge is collecting water?

I have a Bosch fridge(which I thought was a fairly good brand name)-in the last month a pool of water has started to collect at the bottom of the device-by the salad box--I mop it up , but it returns within a couple of days.

I have changed the settings from 5 through to lowest , no difference .

The back of the fridge has ice collecting on it --but that has happened since I bought it (6 years ago) .

Is this a danger? or can it be lived with?

Thank you .

  1. try emptying the drip tray at the bottom of the fridge, and then defrost and see what happens, chances are you might need a new thermostat, cheap enough to buy and if pretty competent can be fitted by yourself.

  2. There should be a little hole about half way down the back of the fridge with a tray attached inside and leading to a tube at the back that hangs over the compressor behind.  This catches any condensation and takes it outside.

After a while this hole gets gunged up with jelly, and the condensation then drips instead into your salad.  After defrosting the fridge, clean it out with a pipe cleaner, and also clean out the tube behind.
