Fried speakers?

i bought some insignia speakers from best buy in NY and I live on the island of curacao...i thought i might need a transformer for different current or something but my boyfriend here said they would be fine.....theyve been working since jan 2 when i came back to the island.....i came home today and they are not working....is the plug/battery pack part fried or the whole inside of the speakers? what do i have to replace?

  1. Troubleshoot.

    First, check the speakers by trying them with a different amplifier. If the speakers still won't work, then it may be the speakers.

    And, next time, buy speakers from a brand that's known for them, like JBL, Klipsch, Paradigm, or Bowers & Wilkins (B&W). Insignia is a "Best Buy" brand.

    Also, check the amplifier with a different set of speakers.


  2. Generally replacement is more cost effective.  They could still be under warranty.
