Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 has revealed that he will look at his options when the current season comes to an end.
The 41-year old goalkeeper has been in fine form ever since he made the move to White Hart Lane from Villa Park last season.
The veteran American goalkeeper has been playing in the Premier League for almost the past decade, and is one of the league’s most recognized and established shot stoppers.
Friedel made his move to White Hart Lane, replacing the out of favour http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heurelho-Gomes-c16173. The American had a fine campaign for Tottenham last season, but many expected him to hang up his boots and gloves after this season.
The player had himself said he’ll consider his career in top level professional football after this year's campaign, and when Tottenham made a dramatic deadline day move for Frenchman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408, many thought that it was the end of the line for Friedel.
However, Friedel had other plans as he kept up his impressive form and restricted Lloris to the bench. The player has started every league game for Tottenham except the 2-0 win over Aston Villa, where manager Andre Villas-Boas had opted for Lloris.
This had ended the American's impressive record of 310 consecutive starts in the league. However, the player retained his place in the side for the 2-4 thrashing handed over by European champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The player recently said that he will be considering his options when the current season ends. Speaking to reporters, he said:
"I'm definitely looking at all the possibilities for next season.”
Lloris is considered Friedel’s long term replacement, and it seems that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 skipper will have to wait for his time to make the No.1 jersey his own.
The American also praised his compatriot Clint Dempsey, who also joined Tottenham during this summer’s transfer window from Fulham. Friedel believes that Dempsey will turn out to be a vital addition to the Spurs first-team squad.
"Tottenham's a big club, and the fans expect to play in a certain way, a very attack-minded way," he added.
"Clint with his ability to score goals will fit into it really well."
