  1. Put a BIOS password in it. Restart and tap either the F2 or Delete key to boot into bios. You can't use your mouse here - use the arrow keys to negotiate around to the security tab. Put in a supervisor and user password. This way your computer won't boot into Windows without the password and he won't be able to boot into safe mode in XP Home and boot.

  2. If it is XP Home you have less choices but the basic set up.

Go to Start, Settings, control panel, User Account.  Choose pick an account to change.  Hopefully her account is there.  If it is, change it so it has a password.  If it is not there make one with a password.

With the guest account, click it and turn it off.

You can make her account an administrator account and another account for her lil brother that is just a limited user account.

THEN.....you want to change the way users log on.  Unclick the welcome screen and fast user switching.  This way, if she is the main user, her name will usually appear on the log on and she types her password.  If the lil guy wants to use it, he has to enter his user name and password.

Fast switching is convenient but doesn't really log the other person off and uses resources.

  3. start, control panel, users, delete the guest account, IM me if you need any additional help
