I have a friend who lives in outside of Jacksonville, FL. He currently is living the life.

He has 3 Funeral Homes that he owns, and he showed his net profit.

$25,000 A MONTH!!!

Currently I am doing Chemistry in my college and He told me to drop that and pursue a career in the Funeral Home Business.

My college is in Florida but i live in Boston. I was thinking about continuing the Chemistry and work on getting the license for a funeral home after i graduate.

Do you think it would be a good idea to finish my schooling. Then start on my Funeral Home idea. He told me it took a little over 10 years from when He started to when he started bringing in that kind of money. He also told me the work is hard but it is not strenuous which is something that would not bother me.

Keep in mind $25000 a month. That is big money

  1. I wouldn't quit school!

You can finish your school while working with your friend. If he's your friend, he should not have a problem giving you a funeral home "trial membership". You can either work part time, or change your school schedule to nights, or something. When you have enough experience working in the Funeral Home business and know for sure that's something you want to pursue, get your license.

You'll have the experience needed to run your own Funeral Home since you worked with your friend and know what to expect day to day and what is required from your part to run that type of business, not just the "theory" you learn from books and classes, but hands on.

If after working with your friend for a while, while finishing school, you decide a Funeral Home business is not the right thing for you, then with your chemistry degree in hand, you can jump onto something else chemistry related.

    Just my 2 cents.

  2. Sure that's a LOT of money. BUT it is ALWAYS the better idea to have an education. When your friends business falls through, for whatever reason, what will he have?

  3. It's ALWAYS a good idea to finish your schooling.  That degree can NEVER be taken away from you.
