Friend being picked on in gym?

Today was our first gym class for 7th grade. We were running laps, and this one kid came up to my friend and said "Hey, look, they're is a twinkie up there!" which I think is really a g*y thing to say. Then he would like jump in front of him while he was running the laps. What can I do to help? Tell the gym teacher? Our school really is against bullying and they want you to tell as soon as possible to stop it. Also, opinions on what the kid said to my friend.

  1. Tell the gym teacher, and if your friend doesn't want to, you just go ahead and do it for him.

It's not right to be picked on. Most schools say "we want you to feel 'safe'"

  2. If that happens again just tell the kid off!! I'm a girl and in 9th grade and this guy was teasing my friend while running! All I said was "Back off!" You should have seen his expression before he said the usual "Why?" haha, my face was SO red i shouted at him. That teasing was going on too long and I knew my friend wasn't going to do anything about it. Haha, she's lucky to have a friend like me : )

Btw, I never told the teacher, sometimes it's the right thing to do, but i had everything under control.

  3. i say kick his ***

  4. Tell the teacher. If you try to stop it yourself, you could just get into a fight and it would be far more awkward. Tell the teacher, and get your friend to back you up, and any others that want to join.

On what the kid said, I think it's pretty pathetic. It's rubbish as an insult. He's clearly a rookie, or he'd have some better tricks up his sleeve.

    :)
