I helped this person yesterday by taking him to court cause he can not drive as he has had his licence cancelled because he was drink driving. Now the court is trying to help him become rehabilitated before they sentence him. He was seen today by a friend driving unlicenced.

  1. Unless you are a police officer or the person was under the influence again, let it go.

  2. I drove every day after I lost my licence. So what???

  3. Bring to his attention what others are doing for him for his own good and tell him it's his turn to step up to the plate and do what's right for himself. And, don't ride w/ him!

  4. Make sure your not in the car with him, when he gets caught.

  5. Well you should let your friend know that if he gets caught driving on the suspended list he will lose his license longer and may have to do jail time. This is a serious offense. He can also get points on his license for this. Let him know he is only going to hurt himself in the long run if he gets caught.

  6. Pretty much all you can do is remain a good friend and offer to drive him anywhere that he needs.  Tell him to just call you if he needs a ride.

If you're not willing to do that or you think it will become an annoyance, you just have to accept that he's making his own decisions, and that's between him and the state.

If you fear that he's going to drive drunk again, then you have to be willing to turn him in and possibly ruin his life with a prison record and possibly lose him as friend forever.  But if you're really a good friend, that is something you may need to do, if you really care about him and don't want to see him hurt or even kill others.

But you can't force someone to do the right thing or hear the message that they were trying to send by taking away his license.  He's got to make that decision on his own.

  7. Unlicensed drivers are at a much greater risk for causing accidents that those with proper licensing.  He has been convicted of DUI so we already know his judgment is suspect at best and criminal at worst.

He is flaunting the law by driving on a suspended license and for himself is at risk for going to jail if caught driving on a suspended license.

It would be in his best interest to follow the court's rulings and the laws at least until this trouble is behind him.

Personally, I would call the police and let them know about the problem.  In the end, you may be saving someone's life, possibly even his.

  8. You already have tried to help him.  Personally, I think you should do nothing more.   He is old enough to drink and drive, and he is old enough to know right from wrong.  Let him find out the hard way that he needs to grow up.  Hopefully, that won't end up with a child or other family member getting killed  in the process by his ignorance.

  9. Drunk Driver? I would turn his butt in before he kills someone, maybe a child.

  10. you are a good friend to worry about someone so all you can try to do is talk to this friend and let them know you care and be there for them , i know sometimes it will get on your nerves to go out your way for this friend , but hey what are friends for, let them know that you're there for them and that they can go to jail or possibly prison for something that you are willing to help them avoid the burden of the legal system and the cost which can accumulate into the 1,000 of dollars, there is not much you can do but talk and show you're there, don't threaten though cause that just ruins friendships
