Hi Ive always wanted to travel to Ireland, and am wondering if I should be concerned with meeting any "unfriendliness" due to the fact that Im not Caucasian- Ive been to the UK and have experienced both the good and the bad attitudes and Im pretty sure that goes for anywhere you would visit- but still Im asking anyway.......

  1. dublin city centre nobody will bat an eyelid or say anything, belfast in the centre and the west of the city nothing will be said.

  2. Actually that person is wrong, there would be a small chance of some remark in urban areas such as Dublin where immigrants are prevalant. Overall I would say theres a 99.6% chance you will get thru your stay in Ireland trouble free and you will enjoy the beauty and hospitality of our people. Enjoy!

  3. its like anywhere you'll always find some a******s, people are in general quite nice we are kind of famous for it... yeah we only look at non drinkers strangely

  4. We Irish don't care what you look like as long as you buy a pint of Guiness every now and then. lol

  5. You'll be fine in dublin.

You may get odd remarks/stares in rural areas but nothing too bad.

Just remember you are in a foriegn land and don't get to offended by any remarks about the color of your skin.

  6. My husband & I traveled to Ireland in 2003 and were met only with friendlyness everywhere that we went.  He is not caucasian & we are a "mixed" couple, which has posed problems when visiting the Southern U.S., but we have received nothing but kindness when traveling throughout Ireland.  We drove all over, including through rural areas.  I hope that your experience is as good as ours was.
