Friendly Letter Format?

Question

Its been a very long time since ive wrote one and i was wondering what is the correct way to do it? Should i put the date underneath the adress and city state or should i put it on the left above the greeting?

A friendly letter does not require an inside address, the date and greeting are enough.  Usually the date in upper right.

you should put it whichever way makes you feel more comfortable. if its a friendly letter the person shouldnt care (:
