Friends Acer 3000 Lap Top, when she tries to play her favourite card game on the net the cards won't move?

as quickly as they did some time ago, they go into slow motion and this messes up the game as the on line players don't like it, Any ideas as to why the computer has slowed, I have done a virus check and removed all I can find.

download the game again ,it prob needs update.
