Friends Life Twenty20 2011 - Top Four Batsmen
Following some competitive cricketing, spanning over almost three months, the Friends Life Twenty20 (T20) tournament 2011, finally came to its closure with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on August 27, 2011.
As for the other participants on the tournament, each side came out with some potent performances, coming through their much talented assortment of players.
Coming to the batting department, many notable performances were seen throughout the competition, however, out of the lot, the tournament produced four top batters that remained to be the highlight of the event. The Australian cricketer turned out to be a potent member for Leicestershire, able to add wonders, both with the bat as well as with the ball.
The player served his T20 side in 18 matches, out of which McDonald earned the highest aggregate of 584 runs at an aggressive strike rate of 128.35 including a best not out performance worth 96 runs.

Alex Hales
22-year-old Alex Hales earns the second spot on the competition’s top batsmen’s roster.
Representing Nottinghamshire in 16 fixtures on the limited overs event, Hales managed to bag a notable tally of 544 runs at a strike rate of 146.63. Along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marcus-Trescothick-c1898, the right handed batsman also stood out as the highest ‘boundaries getter’ whacking 65 in all.

As for the player’s Twenty20 career, so far, Hales has made appearances in 40 limited overs fixtures, securing a total of 1059 runs at a whacking strike rate of 139.89.

Scoring a total of 522 runs, Lancashire’s Stephen Moore secures the third rank on the list. The batsman aggregated the sum from his participation in 17 matches on the competition with a best performance worth 76 runs.

Moore’s performance on the recently concluded Friends Life competition brings his T20 profile to an impressive 80 matches with an aggregate of 1753 runs.
Marcus Trescothick
England’s top order batsman, Marcus Trescothick, comes in as the fourth highest scoring batsman on the competition.
Trescothick stood out as a proud Somerset batsman, the player’s hometown side, bagging a tally of 507 runs from 16 matches including a notable not out performance of 108 runs.
Apart from his proceeding domestic career, 35-year-old, Trescothick holds a fruitful international career with the English team. In mid 2000, the batsman marked his One Day International (ODI), as well as Test debut, followed by his T20 premier in 2005. However, following a stress related illness, Trescothick bid farewell to the national team and went on to resume a lime light career with his hometown Somerset.
