He was the top scorer in the match with 108 runs and remained unbeaten until the end of the innings. Essex failed to cope with the pressure of a massive target and were bowled out for just 82 runs in their outing.

Trescothick was joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-David-Trego-c81582 in the middle and the pair guided their side to a dominant position. They played aggressive cricket and smashed the bowlers to all parts of the park, collecting 71 runs for the second wicket partnership.
Trego was dismissed after scoring 36 runs off 21 balls with the help of four fours and one massive six. He played really well, but would have liked to carry onto his innings and bat until the end.
Trego’s wicket was the only other wicket to fall in the Somerset innings, as Trescothick and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Hildreth-c1647 batted until the end. The pair showed no mercy for the bowlers and struck some hefty blows.
The visitors’ skipper ended up with 108 runs off just 61 balls with the help of 12 fours and five thunderous sixes. He was in terrific form and didn’t find any difficulties with the bat.
Hildreth also supported his captain and kept on scoring runs at a very quick pace from the other end. He was unbeaten on 64 from just 29 balls, smashing four fours and three sixes. Somerset ended up with 225 runs at the end of the innings.
Bowlers failed to perform in the innings, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Daniel-Masters-c52741 took one wicket and was the pick of the bowlers for his team.
