Friends and I are thinking of going to Cancun. Can you recommend budget, beach side hotels?

We're looking for a clean, cheap room as we don't plan on staying in the room much. Is September a good month to go?

All-Inclusive is the way to go: Then meals/drinks/airfare and some activities are included.

- I also think that September would be cheaper than other months, since many people don't really vacation a lot during thats time. I reccomend and 3 or 4 star hotel if you're not planning on staying the room a lot.

Other posters here missed the " budget ' thing. Get on the plane and wing it.

Ask the taxi drivers where the deals are. the taxi drivers at the airport are the honest ones.

I did it in Acapulco and a half mile off the beach - near all the shops and clubs I got a good room for 40 bucks a night. No way you'd get that off the internet or close to the beach or all inclusive.

It was a mom and pop that the taxi guys knew about and probably got a kick back. Mine waited and helped me at the front counter and asked if that was ok, if not he knew of others.

Each one of you spread out when you land and talk to the taxi guys and see whos got the best deal. I know you just need a place to crash so I understand " budget ".

Mine had a cool little pool , small little resturant and they let me keep my beer in the fridge outside and gave me the keys to the lock b/c they got tired of me comming in at 3 am and waking them up to get my beer.

just wing it , you'll be fine and have an adventure. I hate everything being planned, takes the excitement out of it.

Surely there is mom and pop small hotels for around 50 a night in Cancun.

Sept is a little dodggy on the weather. Pop up thunderstorms , humidity and mosquitos prevail. Hope no hurricane comes thru and you without travelers insurance.

December thru may is the best. Cold in the states , wether here is perfect !

get away from the main tourist areas for food. pricey and not authentic.Ask a cab driver to take you to his favorite little resturant. Much cheaper and better. h**l buy him dinner for the ride and return trip to your hotel - have fun !!!
