Question:

Friendship bracelet instruction confusion?

Okay, I found this friendship bracelet I want to make, and I've made a friendship bracelet before but it was the easiest one and a person showed me how to do it...no reading.

Now, I'm trying to figure out what the instructions mean and I'm a bit confused.

Here's the bracelet I want to make w/instructions :

and here's the "general tips" to kind of explain the lingo:

And I'm confused about 3 things:

1) What order I put the colors in. What does 11223344 mean? There are only three colors!

2) Does "make a 6 fk and 1 fk/bk" mean do a fk 6 times and a fk/bk once?

3) **UBER CONFUSION** "Threads should be prepared in the usual way folded in half" I read the "general tips" hoping it clear that up, but...is it just telling me to tie a knot with all the strings or is it telling me to double all the strings, making them thicker?

hope all that made sense. I know it was long.

  1. I've found a link that shows how to make bracelets. I find them easier to understand than the link you gave us.

  2. 1.  It says made with three colors, but the example shows four colors.  Red, yellow, blue and green.  The 11223344 is the order to use those for four colors.  The variations are 12131213 for using three colors and 11222211 for using two colors.

    2.  I believe you're correct...make a fk 6 times and a fk/bk once.

    3.  It says "Threads should be prepared in the usual way folded in half" for that particular bracelet, so you'll have 2 threads of each color.  After you fold the threads in half, you should tie a knot at the top.
