Friendship gone bad! need your views!!!?

Question

i,ve had this friend for 10 yeas.we met in jr high.we,ve been having alot of problems for a while now,and of course when you,ve known someone so long you dont just wanna give up on things but i feel its time.my friend is very very immature she still acts the way she did in school and i,ve grown up.when ever i call her on her behavior she gets extremely defensive and flys off the handle and it can be over the smallest thing! a week back we had a conflict in which she said she was not going to change,not that i told her she should but she just said this on her own.so i think its safe to say the friendship cant work because we will keep having the same probs.i dont even think i like her enough to be her friend anymore.so do you guys agree this friendship is done? any thoughts?

It sounds like it's not worth the effort. I've had problems with a long time friend as well, I'm in my 40s. I've had many friends longer and never experienced the things I had with her. So I just don't make contact with her anymore. I believe some people come into your life forever, when others are just for a period of time, that's just the way life is. Good Luck!

I think this friendship has been done for a long time.  I think it was great of you to try and stick together because of the fact that you have known each other so long.  It is obvious that she doesn't see it that way.  I think its time to move on and find other friends and girlfriends that will act appropriate for their age level.  I think you are a great guy.  Good luck and have fun for a change.  Most of all be yourself.  I think you are pretty great.
