My friend Lizzie phoned a few minutes ago. We've been friends for over three years. She told me she hung out with another girl last night (Serene -- she used to date the bartender at the straight bar I frequent). Serene and I used to be very close and then just drifted apart for no reason in particular. That was okay with me. However, a few months ago I saw Serene and said hello to her. I was literally three feet in front of her, waving and said, "Hey, Serene!" SHE ACTED AS IF SHE DIDN'T SEE ME. I asked another friend, Rob, if he'd seen what Serene did (just to make sure it wasn't my imagination) and he said, "Yes, and I didn't approve."
Anyway, I really don't like Serene after she was so blatantly rude to me for no reason. And I don't like hearing about her. Should I tell my friend Lizzie that I don't want to hear about Serene? When this first happened with Serene, I told Lizzie about it and she said, "f**k her! I'm sick of people being so rude." But on the phone just now she was telling me how "nice" Serene is. I don't want to hear about how nice she is when she's such a b*tch. I even asked Gianni, the bartender, about Serene, and he said Serene is jealous of his new girlfriend and bad-mouthed Gianni to her and he doesn't want Serene near him.
How would you feel? Would you just say nothing?
