  1. Denon and Pioneer are good. Pioneer Elite is consider High End. Look into Onkyo if you care about HDMI Inputs.

Also, Pioneer Elite is coming out with some HDMI input as well.

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/P...

Is Pioneer ELite website. All Excellent equipment.

As you know Pioneer Elite Kuro Plasma are one of the best.

    Good luck

  2. Dude - those are "Retail" brands, not high end.  Check out Meridian or Cine Nova ($4,000 for the amp) if you want to see high-end.

Of the 2 lines, Denon has a better track record IN GENERAL.  The Pioneer Elite has a lot of respect, but avoid the non-Elite receivers.

There is a "dark-horse" entry. Onkyo TX-SR505, 605, 705 receivers came out last year and pack a LOT of HDMI, auto-calibration, bells & whistles that rival the higher end units, but start below $500.  "The Perfect Vision" put the Onkyo 705 receiver as it's "Best of the Year" in the Jan issue.

    Good Luck.

  3. Denon is a top brand and Pioneer has a top line called Technique, the pioneer line is there lower end consumer line.
