  1. They say  December 21, 2012 mark the end of the world, I say it might be  the beginning of a new age of enlightenment.  Don't be scared. We will not die, take it in a positive way. Well, to be honest with you, I don't really know what will really happen beyond 2012. I  believe that life into the future will be radically different from what it is now-may be *peaceful*

  2. I Know...I don´t know what to think, I do think its bullshit but deep down I´m scared...I'm ok for now but when the time comes I'll be **** scared....

  3. Nope, don't worry about it the world won't end for a long time. You'll be long dead  before it does.

  4. If I had $50 for every time this question has been asked I could buy a new Mercedes-Benz. Copy and paste answer follows, though it is all my own work.

That isn't even wrong. That is all lies and fraud to get people buying faked up books, videos, watching nonsense shows on TV and directing traffic to fraudulent websites.

Pole shifts - no, not a chance.

Magnetic poles flip - no, they will just keep moving as usual.

Mayan calendar - one of their calendars ends in 2012. There is no prediction attached to this and even if there was, it would be astrology and that has been disproved so many times that it's not worth any more words.

Solar maximum - expected in 2011, not 2012 and it happens every 11 years anyway.

Planetary alignments - completely false and about as far from an "alignment" as you can imagine. Planets will be all over the place. The next "alignment" of the major planets is expected sometime after the Sun burns out. Even if it did happen the question would arise "So what?" Where is the physical connection between Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn etc?

Gravity? Like to calculate how strong the gravitational effects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn is on Earth? Multiply the masses of the planets together, divide by the square of the distance between them and then multiply by the gravitational constant, which is a rather small number. Now add them all together and you still don't have a hill of beans.

Newton knew how more than 200 years ago, but our planetary alignment freaks never care to because the result would make them look as silly as they are.

Venus will transit the Sun in June 2012, just as it did in 2004 and on a regular roughly 110 year cycle before that. No noticeable effect then except on astronomers, some of whom will take measurements, no expected effect this next time.

Planet X / Niburu / black hole / brown dwarf / wandering planet - No. Predicted for 2003 by a loony woman who claimed telepathic contact with aliens. No sign of it then and still no sign of it. If this big nasty exists it must be quite close by now and visible with a fairly ordinary astronomical telescope. Where is it? Don't say it can only be seen from the southern hemisphere, there are many large astronomical telescopes in the southern hemisphere. Radio telescopes too.

25,800 year cycles. This is called "precession of the equinoxes" and was discovered a bit more than 2100 years ago. It has been happening since the Earth formed billions of years ago and will not stop, start or change direction in 2012. There is no particular significance in the direction the poles of rotation happen to be pointing at present or in 2012 and there is none at any time.

The Bible codes are superstitious drivel and were disproved within months of the first book coming out, similar coded messages can be found in any random book or even newspapers using the same "anything goes" methods faked up by the author of the original book.

Revelation - nobody ever made sense of those febrile maunderings, the evidence for that is that there are so many different interpretations.

Nostradamus - he never predicted anything accurately and he may not have intended to. Many editions of his quatrains contain faked verses inserted long after he died.

Galactic central plane - we are near it, so astronomers say, but we have always been near it. No "alignment" is possible because of the angle of the ecliptic to that of the galactic central plane. Even if there was an alignment, the question would be "So what?"

Photon belt - this one is almost the silliest of the lot. Supposed to be around the "7 sisters". Our solar system is heading away from them, not towards them. It does not exist anyway.

What happened the last time someone predicted the end of the world?  And the time before that?  And the time before that?  And the time before that?  And the time - - - Get my drift?

Like the "didn't land on the Moon gibberings", the Bermuda balderdash triangle, alien abductions, chupacabaras, area 51 and creationism the 2012 doomsday stuff is all fraud, foolery and driveling delusion.

  5. Everyone is saying this beacause that is where the mayan calender ended so now everyone thnks its because the world is going to end. The Mayan Calendar is not predicting the end of the world 2012, but the start of a new era; the golden age. Its a celebration! Not the end of the world! The mayans would call ths th end of a new cycle and they would celebrate. Everyone is always saying the world is going to end like how the year of 2000 was supposed to be the end of the world...we are still here right? So there is nothing to be afraid of. :):):)

  6. Do not be scared.  I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day.  Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700.  He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet.  Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia).  It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.

But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.

This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to h**l. This is very scary – to live in h**l forever.  If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war.  This calamitous war will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular.  The Spratly Islands lie on the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines.  The Holy Spirit told us that the troubles in the Philippines is like the wick of a lamp.  Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow.  He told us about this prophecy more than a decade ago.  Please read what is happening in the Philippines now.  Spratly Islands which is being claimed wholly or partly by six countries including China is in the news and considered a tinderbox, a flash point.  It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait.  The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.

Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen.  These are Nostradamus’ prophecies to happen around this time (quatrains 6:24 and 2:62) , the 56th Chinese prophecy of Tuey Bei Tu (the past 55 prophecies have already been fulfilled), Revelation 9:18 of the Holy Bible, and those that the Holy Spirit revealed to us.  If you are interested in the details about these prophecies, please send me your request via email.

  7. No-- why should I be frightened by a DEAD civilization that practiced human sacrifice.

  8. who says this? anybody who isn't a total idiot?

you have a choice: a perpetual living death of fear, or learn the truth and know a cruel, cynical hoax when you see one. you should know better.

  9. Hon, first of all have you invited Jesus Christ into your heart to be your lord and savior ? This world will never end according to the bible. Only the bad and evil people will be gone ! Relax dear trust in Jesus and everything will be alright.

  10. The current world population is about 6,670,870,000.

The world average life expectance is currently 67 years.

At this rate, in the year 2012 about 99,565,224 people will die.

ON THAT DREADFUL DAY OF DECEMBER 21, 2012 - LIFE WILL COME TO AN END FOR ABOUT 272,580 PEOPLE.

Mankind will be helpless to prevent this tragedy and there will be much sorrow among the families of the departed. This vast number of people will lose their lives just as the Mayan “Long count” era ends!

  11. yeah, haven't you noticed all the news stories about it?  ANd how we've given up any planning beyond 2012 for anything since we wont be here?

I mean seriously, are you like 12 years old?

  12. This was predicted by the Mayans....   and they're all dead.

I'll bet they didn't predict that little detail in their calendar.

Anyways, the world isn't going to end in 2012.  Don't worry about it.

  13. There are only two groups of people who are saying the world will end.

Hoaxers who enjoy fooling others with lies, and those who believe them.

Most people are NOT saying that the world will end in 2012.

People who have studied Mayan history and the Long Count calendar KNOW that the calendar is not coming to an end (it is simply moving on to another count).

Even the guy who invented the fake planet Nibiru does not understand why anyone would associate it with 2012 (he had calculated the return for 2085).

However, I am quickly reaching the point of thinking that if you have decided to be scared so easily by lies, then you might as well be scared by that.  It will make you forget the stuff that you should be really scared about (like the wars that will likely be caused by the worldwide shortages of food and energy, partly due to our gluttonous dependency on oil and gas).

You want to be scared about something, go find something worth being scared about.  Believe me, there is plenty.

  14. The reality of 2012 stems completely from the following rooted fact:

The Maya civilization brought itself to extinction before they could start a new age on their calendar system due to what most scholars accept as, overpopulation and exhausted food resources to sustain their cultural needs. The Mayans DID NOT predict the world was going to end. Doomsayers really spin this out of proportion without knowing historical facts or about astronomy. No matter what conspiracy theorists want to believe, the truth is, the Mayan Long Calendar speaks of the end of one cycle of time moving into the next on December 21, 2012. I'm sure if their race would have survived, they would have continued their calendar.

Cosmology research into the nature of December 21, 2012, reveals that a rare celestial alignment culminates on this date; and amazingly, the Mayans knew this. What occurs here is an alignment between the galactic and solar planes. Specifically, the winter solstice sun will conjunct the Milky Way, which is the edge of our spinning galaxy as viewed from earth. Furthermore, the place where the sun meets the Milky Way is where the "dark-rift" in the Milky Way is. This a black ridge along the Milky Way caused by interstellar dust clouds. At dawn on the winter solstice of 2012, the sun will be  right in this dark-rift and the orientation is such that the Milky Way rims the horizon at all points around. Thus, the Milky Way "sits" on the earth, touching it at all points around, opening up the cosmic sky portal. The galactic and solar planes are thus aligned. "Sky portal" is just a term to describe the "opened sky" scenario apparent when the Milky Way rims the horizon. This is not to be confused with the "dark-rift" itself. Overall, the dark-rift is best understood as the birth canal of the Cosmic Mother. And the date of this alignment is, again, the end date of the 13-baktun Great Cycle - a cycle of approximately 5125 years. This all suggests that the ancient Maya were aware of the impending alignment and considered it to be of such importance to be a major transition point, the Creation of a new World Age.

So, for those of you still unconvinced and bound to mythological ideas better suited for Hollywood, if the Maya were so keen into predicting the future, one would come to theorize that they would have foreseen the demise of their own race and more than likely, prevented it from happening. Don’t ya think? And remember this small fact; the term "Apocalypse" as the Maya wrote it, literally means uncovering or revealing. This definition was understood, even at their time of writing.

The headline appropriate for this upcoming event is: "Cosmic Mother Gives Birth to The First God."

  15. I'm more worried about people fulfulling the stupid 2012 prophecy by panicking and acting stupid when we reach that year.

you don't have to worry, the mayans weren't very good at predicting end-times as they could not even foresee the end of their own civilization.

  16. Only the Mayans bel;ieve this, and as long as you are not Mayan, then 2012 is just another year.

  17. Nothing is going to happen. People were saying the same thing about 05/05/05. Get what? Nothing happened. Take a deep breath & relax. Remember, no one can predict, or forsee the future. NO ONE!

  18. No. Mostly because I do not think that is true.

Life is too short to be worrying about something that is out of your control. Be happy and live it up!

  19. Its the return of Nibiru, google that to find out, or it is the dawning of the age of aquarius, nothing having to do with the end of the world.

  20. Who says this? Name ONE legitimate scientist in the whole world who says this?

Scientists don't expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.

None of the "predicted" happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. "Planet X" and "Nibiru" simply don't exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn't line up with the galactic centre; it's 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.

All of this stuff was put together by sensationalists in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don't take any of it seriously!

  21. 2012 is a hoax.  The Mayan calendar rolls over in 2012.  Our calendar rolls over every year on Dec. 31st.  All it means is that we go back to the beginning (Jan. 1st).

Please don't worry about this.  People have been predicting the end of the world for as long as there have been humans on this planet.  It hasn't happened yet.

If it's any comfort to you, our best scientific prediction is that the Earth will be destroyed in about 4.5 billion years when our sun expands into a red giant.  So no worries for the immediate future, eh?  :-)

  22. I know the world won't end in 2012 because it was just said because that is when the Earth's magnetic poles reverse which will make north south and south north. It has already happened before and I don't believe anything bad will happen.

  23. It's a Mayan calendar and only applies to Mayans.

It's not very accurate either.  The Mayan civilization that created the calendar ended a few hundred years ago.

But at least they didn't have to make a new calendar.
