Frigidaire fridge...not cold anymore..please help?

hi guys, i have a frigidaire fridge. its the typical fridge, with a top mounted freezer. its still new only couple years old but now something wrong with it...cant trust any product these days.

heres what happened, mom opened the fridge and frreezer just recently, and found that its warm and not cold. the dials are set to cold yet we dont know the problem. opened the freezer, it was also cold and although its suppose to be a frost free freezer, it had ice building up everywhere.

were already having enough problems and the last thing we need is our fridge to be not working.

anyone have any suggestions ??? (and dont suggets call a repairs men thats my last resort)

Sounds like the defrost timer.  Sometimes all it takes is to unplug it for a while.  If that doesn't work, I'm heard that there may be a "reset" on the defrost timer, I'd look into that too

If the fridge and freezer have ice build-up, then this may be the cause.  Defrost both and see what happens. (DON'T use a hair drier.  You may get an electric shock if water drips on it!)

Empty it and unplug it.Plug a hair dryer in the receptacle that the fridge was plugged in and blow every speck of dust ,hair etc.from underneath it and behind it.Leave it unplugged for a day with the doors open.Plug it back in the next day.This will work 60% of the time.The other 40% you will have to call for service.

LOL. That is what I was going to say.  Yes, frost EVERYwhere means a door was left open. That is the only way you get that much moisture.

You coils are all blocked with ice and that is why the fresh food section is not cooling, no air flow.

It will likely correct itself after a couple of defrosts. But it is not a bad idea to defrost it some yourself because it is possible it frosted the air ducts and they full of ice and don't clear as well or as fast.

Just letting it run and defrost by itself could take a day or more to correct.
