Frog Eggs????

Question

So i went swimming at my moter in laws pool a few days ago and as soon as i was getting in a notice these clear strings with all these little black dots inside! I was FREAKED out!! I didnt not know what they were... They were like 2 feet long and GOOWY!! YUCK!! So anyways i got the net and got as many of them out as i could "there were ALOT"... Then i called my mother in law and she was like " Oh those are just frog eggs"... Its not that i dont believe her its that i dont understand how a frog could give out so much!! If you were to coil these up they would still be big!! Anyways has anyone ever had a frog lay eggs in their pool??? If so are they safe to swim with?? "Ew that is so sick! lol"

Those definitely sound like frog eggs. They have been known to show up in swimming pools.

And many frogs do lay a ton of eggs in order to improve the chances of some offspring actually hatching, becoming tadpoles and then eventually frogs.

They won't hurt you.
