  1. There are several research topics in popular science magazines that discuss Frog mutations being a result of pesticides.  These mutations are occuring world wide in areas where watersheads can't contain the pollutants from industrial and agricultural runoff.

The mutations begin to occurr during tadpole stage. The chemicals absorbed into the flesh of the tadpole can disrupt its natural development causing the sprouting of extra limbs during it metamorphosis into a frog.

Some of the chemicals and higher levels of nutrients cause an increase in fungus that in the past has caused frog mutations, but because the levels of nutrients and the thriving of the fungus the frogs have more of a chance of coming in contact with this fungus that will invade their cells in the tadpole stage also resulting in more limbs.  Which is the reason in some areas for an increase in the number of mutated frogs.

There are many reasearch groups and studies goin on currently and search the internet for the research data should be fairly easy.  Search Frog Mutation Research or Abstract
