  1. awwwww. im sorry to hear dat but it happened before and that was a result of a water pollution...

  2. yeah, it is serious. they swell up do to the water being contaminated. oh and your froggies are going to die... not explode. x[

  3. Frogs, Toads and Newts can suffer from a number of ailments and diseases. In this case there may be a problem with the pond water.

You may like to visit the froglife website...follow the links where you may find some help, there is a bit on the website about "inflated Frogs".You can also mail froglife for help and advice as I did last year. They were very helpful.

The drainage of ornamental ponds for cleaning can have a very negative effect on the common Frog. Your best bet would be to test the ph of the water. You should be able to get a kit from any aquatic centre, maybe even a garden centre that deals with ponds.Your pond is quite new so the ph of the water will take a while to settle, changing the water will make matters worse.

Do you know when the Frogs first inhabited the pond? Was the water treated to remove the nasty chemicals in it? Tap water can burn Frogs/Toads skin if  they enter the pond before the water is treated or left to evaporate off.
