Question:

Frogs - help - do they need rescuing?

We have just discovered 6 little tiny frogs in our cellar window gully (outside) I am fairly certain that they can't get out as the wall is smooth and bends back on itself; having watched them they only seem to be able to get so far then fall down.

Should I gather them up and move them? If so, we have a forest and a lake near us - where should I put them, by the forest or by the lake?

  1. Put them in between the forest and the lake, then they can choose. Help them out your cellar though!

  2. Put them by the lake thats nearest to the forest. That way they can swim which will, you know, stop them from dying, but the also have the forest for their hoppy-aroundy-ness.

  3. If they need rescuing you should put them back in the area you found them as no doubt they have made there homes already and won't appreciate being moved somewhere different. Take them out and put them under the nearest bush to where you found them and they will find there way home. If you found peter rabbit caught in your shed you wouldn't then pick him up and take him to a field miles away from wehre you found him, you'd just let him go somewhere safe close by. its no different for frogs!

  4. just pop them back on the top bit closest to where they are now, keep an i on them, they must have come from some where close by,

  5. Frogs need water so I would put them at the edge of the lake in some weed. Close enough so they can come out or go deeper if they want to.
