Question:

Frogs mating and dead goldfish?

found frog eggs in the pond this morning, i've gone through this before with the noise, i always leave the spawn alone,but this time i also found a pretty good sized goldfish half dead at the bottom scales rubbed off one side,it doesn't look like a heron any ideas ? could it be the frog ?

  1. I don't think it could be the frogs and definitely not the heron as it would have eaten it or carried it off. It sounds like some snails have been at it. Ive seen something like it in my fish tank, pest snails come in on plants and when a fish dies the snails start to eat it.

    the fish was probably on its way out and its just nature speeding things up

  2. Is the goldfish in an outdoor pond? Some racoon may of snatched it and ate it some of it. Also it can't be a frog unless its bigger than the goldfish. Goodluck!!!
