We'll (3 Adults, 3 teens) be staying in the 7th mid-May and will be going for a daytrip to Disneyland. I know I need the RER Red Line (A4?). We're close to the Metro Stations of La Tour Maubourg and Invalides. Our Carte Orange Metro Passes will have expired by the day we've planned for this. We'll need to buy Metro passes to get to the RER, only need them for this trip there/back so with 6 of us, what do I ask for (carnet cheaper)? Which Metro route should I take, and do I need more tickets for transfers? Which station should we use to get on the RER to Disney (I remember from my 1 trip there that Les Halles was huge---so can you give details on where to go exactly). Can I purchase the RER tickets in advance or are they only good that day- where do I get them at the station? Do I need cash? We want to be at Disney before the gates open. What time should we leave home? Any details you can share would be appreciated...I've only been once to Paris -Nervous! Thanks!

  1. Take Metro line 8 from the La Tour-Maubourg  station. You need the one marked "Direction : Creteil-Prefecture (Hotel de Ville)". Take this to the Opera station and there you can transfer to the RER A marked "Direction : Marne-la-Vallee Chessy"

You should expect this trip to take about an hour and 15 minutes.

Since you will be traveling out of the city of Paris on the RER you'll need to get tickets for Zone 5. This is quite important because you can enter the RER with any ticket but you'll not be able to exit without a ticket for the proper zone.

You can buy your RER tickets in advance. They have no expiration date.

The most economical way to make this trip would be to buy a carnet (making sure to specify that it is for zone 5) plus two additional zone five tickets making a total of 12 (10 in the carnet + 2 individual tickets).

NB: No offense but I simply can't fathom why anyone would waste their time in Paris by going to some schlocky theme park. But if you must go to a theme park then at least go to the Parc Asterix which is a French theme park. http://www.parcasterix.fr/

  2. Okaii i dont know about your metro line as i went from pigalle to nation then nation straight out (its takes 35mins to get there)but what i will warn you about is the price you have to pay for a metro ticket as the paris ones dont work! i'm just back from paris on monday and planned to go like yourself a day trip to euro , when you get to the station right outside euro when you try to put your metro ticket in the thingy(dont know what you call it) it rejects it alot of people new nothing about this as everyone was getting rejected ! . But because your "outside paris" as they say ! You have to get another metro ticket its 25euro each so thats 125 for all of you it was only me and my teenage daughter that went so it was alrite . That metro gets you to and from euro but then its about 50 euro to go in the park without buying anything inside so i advise you to take alot of extra money! Have a great time i did!
