How would I go about traveling from Budapest to Greece? Where do you recommend staying in Greece? How much will it cost me ( approximately)?

  1. Jo napot kivanok!

From Budapest, you will travel by air (by road only through Italy with a ferry). Greece has an amazing and very heterogeneous landscape. From very green and mountainous (as Austria) to dry, deserted landscapes with white washed houses. Thus you need to decide: green or dry? touristic or remote? cheaper or expensive? Hype and trendy or simple and plain? Clubbing? Your age? and so on and so forth...

For an indicative budget plan on spending from 70-80 euros/day (small hotel, one meal + few other expenses) up to...the sky is the limit! Avoid August as prices are at their highest + crowdy.  There are some Hungarian budget packages from Budapest to Rhodes (unless you wanna avoid Hungarians...).

For general info on the islands and elsewhere in Greece: http://www.gnto.gr/

Mainstream touristic destinations (in groups of islands):

    Ionian islands: Corfu, Kephalonia, Zakynthos

    Cyclades: Mykonos, Paros, Santorini

    Dodecanese:  Rhodes, Kos

    Sporades: Skiathos, Skopelos

and there is always the mainland of Greece (need a car) as well as 500 more islands to choose from...(I love them all!)

    welcome to Greece!

ps: Is Budapest as beautiful as I left her? Or is it run down by the massive s*x clubs and the new rich mentality? Hope not...:)

  2. look up discount european airlines on the web and find a cheap ticket, then go to Hotels.com and find a hotel or include your flight you might get a good rate..
