  1. Although the previous answer is completely accurate, it does involve a lot of walking at Earls Court, which might be a problem with luggage. (You are, after all, coming from an airport!)

    I would do the following.

    From Heathrow take the first London-bound Piccadilly Line train and get off at Hammersmith. Cross to the other side of the same platform and take the first eastbound District Line train. Get off at Earls Court and from that platform (either side), get the first District Line train to Edgware Road.

    {If a train to High Street Kensington comes first, take that and get off at High Street Kensington and, from the same platform, take the Circle Line train to Edgware Road.}

  2. Picadilly line (blue) from heathrow (the only tube line from the airport, so you cant go wrong there).

    Change at Earls Court onto the Circle (yellow) or District (green) line to Edgware Road.

    That branch of the District line terminates at Edgware Road. Careful when changing at Earls Court, as there are several different routes on the district line, so make sure you get the right one. Ask if unsure.

    Prob would cost between £3 and £4 for a single ticket if you are buying on the day. If you have an Oyster card, fares are much cheaper.

    If you are in london for a while, then prob worth buying one. Costs £3 to buy, although if you hand it back at the end of your trip, you will get your money back. A £4 fare becomes about £1.50 if the same journey is paid for by oyster card.

    See the link for tube maps.
