I am also wondering how to get to Islip Airport from Greenlawn, again by commute. On a budget here, and I heard that taxia are pretty expensive. Thanks!

  1. I don't know what "by commute " means but by car probably the best way would be LIE to BQE over the manhattan bridge through Chinatown via Canal st to the Holland tunnel to NJ then Pulaski Skyway to Newark airport. By public transportation take LIRR to penn station walk down to the port authority bus terminal and take NJ transit to newark airport.

  2. train

its the quickest and less traffic jammed way.

You might have to take it to NY Penn then go upstairs to Newark Penn or direct to airport from there but if you hate traffic and delays its so much easier.

I do know know where you plan to go but overall my opinion would be to fly out of Islip, maybe you have a stop over but that is sooo forgotten than dealing with the travel to the international/major flights (jfk, lga, nwk)
