From Preston to Springvale? how much driving time?

Am staying in Preston and my new job is in Springvale, I still dont have a car, but what would be the driving time at the early 7 am?

a new toll road has just been opened last weekend which may improve the drive time but preston is not very close to springvale. melbourne is the second largest city in the world by area as many unsuspecting visitors discover.

to arrive at 7am in springvale it would be best to leave at about 6am. take the eastern freeway to springvale road and then travel along springvale road (a busy highway) until you reach springvale. to leave preston at 7am it may take more than 1 hour as the traffic can be very congested on weekdays.

currently victoria has school holidays so traffic congestion has eased a little. consult a recent roadmap (the best/most popular is melways) or the vicroads website (www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/) to find out if there is a quicker route utilising the new eastlink tollway.
