  1. (I do wish people wouldn't answer these questions unless they have serious and accurate info)

Take the Ryde to Portsmouth Harbour ferry. From Portsmouth Harbour there is an hourly service to Gatwick Airport taking One Hour 25 minutes. From Gatwick Airport there is an hourly service to Tunbridge Wells taking 54 minutes. Journey times will be longer on Sundays.

  2. Take the train from Portsmouth Harbour and then change at Gatwick, it is quite straightforward.

  3. It will take hours and hours and hours and hours by train if you avoid Waterloo. Perhaps get a train from Portsmouth to Victoria and the travel to Tunbridge Wells from Victoria. Then you wont have to go into scary London.

  4. sorry to say best way if by waterloo

  5. Ferry from the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth

    Portsmouth to Bristol.

    Bristol to Manchester,

    Manchester to Ipswich,

    Ipswich to Tunbridge wells.

Takes a little time, but enjoyable if you like trains.

You never said if you wanted the direct route.

Enjoy and I hope you have enough money in the bank to pay the fares.

    ps. I live in Australia.

Go via Waterloo if you are in a hurry. London is no bother.

    Or drive. That is quicker.

  6. Island Line to Ryde, ferry over to Portsmouth harbour, join Portsmouth to Redhill via Barnham and Horsham and Change for South Eastern service to Tubridge Wells.  Journey time about 2.5 hours

  7. Well If you mean once you hit Portsmouth, then try this route.

    PORTSMOUTH - BRIGHTON

via Fratton, Chichester, Worthing, Hove then into Brighton.

    BRIGHTON  - REDHILL

via Haywards Heath, Three Bridges then change at Redhill.

You will then need to check train times and track closures before you travel on a train that will leave Redhill and go via Godstone through to Tonbridge. Then change to go direct to Tunbridge Wells.

Alternatively there is a bus, from BRIGHTON - TUNBRIDGE WELLS, costs £4.20 return on the 29/29A

The journey by train is about 4 hours 02 minutes from Portsmouth.

The journey by Train to Brighton then Bus to Tunbridge Wells is about 4 hours 40-50 minutes (dependent on peak time travel).

    Hope this helps?
