From a Conflict theorist perspective, explain why poor people are poor.?

and before you think this is homework it is not.. i would just like to know how some people think

From the conflict perspective, people are poor because they lack power, and capital (land, factories, money).  From this perspective, the have nots (poor) always lose against the haves (business owners, capitalists) because they have all the money and power.  This is why Marx argued that the only way the have nots or the average day worker could come out of oppression or poverty was to revolt against the haves.  This is a controversial perspective, which many Americans disagree with.

Life allows us to be poor,people who are rich cannot know what life is trully about if they have everything handed to them

i think the main thing that make people rich is work, and good work opportunities comes mainly from learning and acquiring high degrees, which is costly and poor people can't pay for it  

that's why most poor people still poor unless they can pay for developing themselves .

it's like the beginning capital to start a company whenever this capital is provided the company can start and develop by time.

Using the Conflict perspective, the poor are poor because the non-poor have withheld all power from them and need them to remain controlled and powerless in order to maintain the society and lifestyle which is beneficial to them.  As long as the poor do not gain economically, the rich can remain rich.  

Check out Marx's comments on the bourgeouise and the proletariats (forgive me for the spelling!).  Conflict theory is fascinating because it can be applied to almost any situation-marriage, work, a classroom.  There are always people with power and people without.

Because they have no ambition to be other than poor
