From a non-expert point of view, does boxing begin at middle-weight as an interesting spectacle?

I find the light-weight fighters too fast to follow and their punches too harmless to be interesting.

  1. I have to give thumbs up to thekeithinator. The only other thing I can really add is check some of Manny Pacquiao's fights in the past, also. That little guy has given out some amazing knockouts. In one fight, Pacquiao hit an opponent so hard that the guy almost fell to a seated position (somehow managed to avoid the canvas), then balanced himself back up, taking a couple of steps away from Pacquiao before collapsing. Unfortunately, I can't remember the fighter's name, but it happened long before his first fight with Barerra.

  2. MrKP is correct except for one thing..........you are not some fool for thinking that lighter weight fighters have no punch..........that is a very very common stereotype that plagues the fighters in lower weight classes.........at least by people who are new to boxing..........if they follow boxing and say the same thing then there's a good chance that despite the fact that they are watching boxing that they don't really know the sport.    Everything else MrKP said is spot on man..........the lighter weight guys have put on some of the best fights that you will see...............i'd suggest downloading the Marqez vs Vazquez trilogy or the Barrera vs. Morales I fight...........then make a decision about whether or not the little guys fighting excites you or not.

Also.........it's really hard to say that a fight is going to be great because you just never know, but one of the few fights that there is almost a certainty that it'll be an awesome fight to watch is the Cotto vs. Margarito PPV fight(think it's in JUly).........they are Welterweights and both guys can punch like a mule!!!!!    Every single person who knows boxing i guarantee is dying to see this one.............bar none!!!!!!    Watch it if you can....................good luck man.............email me and let me know if you watch those matches i told you to download and what you thought..............Barrera vs. Morales I was nuts!!!!

  3. If Miguel Cotto punched you you'd know about it, fool.

Anyway, the lighter weights often produce the most exciting fights. Top candidates for fight of the year so far are Pacquiao-Marquez and Marquez-Vasquez, little guys.

  4. sorry my friend ,i think middleweight is where it ends.i haven't seen a good heavyweight fight in YEARS and the calzhaghe-hopkins fight put me to sleep.

middleweight down to flyweights: thats  where you'll see the best fights

  5. h**l no! I think welterweight is the best division. The lighter weights are more scrappy. They just go right at it. I don't really like them less than Jr. Featherweight though.
