rite now i have chacott pointe shoes. 25.5 size. D. hard shank. our guest choreographer told me that since my toes are slightly curling, russian pointes would be better so that the shank near the heal would be softer, and the box would be better for my feet. i'm 13 and been doing pointe since december of 2006. is this an ok transition? whats your experince w either pointe shoe?

  1. my experience with chacotts was bad my feet hurt so bad they are one of the worst shoes I have ever gotten I like Gaynor minden pointe shoes I don't even have to wear toe pads they feel so good my experience with Russian pointe shoes was so bad I didn't even buy them they are to hard on my feet but you might like them you should ask to try them on before you buy them good luck=^..^=

  2. If it is good for your feet than you should do it. I myself really dont like russian pointe..they are my least favorite. You may like them though. When you get fitted tell the person about your toes and what your teacher told you, and ask her if she knows what shoes would be best. Or ask your teacher if she can go to the store with you.

  3. i dont have an experience with either pointe shoe, sorry. i use bloch. but i think that it would be a good transition since it would be better for your feet. if your not in pain then you should maybe wait until you need a new pair. if you are in pain then you should DEFINATLEY try them. just make sure that before you buy them that you feel comfortable in them. good luck!

  4. I have chacott shoes 24.5 D. hard shank. These are the best shoes that I have ever worn. I love that they break in so easily. But, if I were you, I would go to your local dance store and ask one of the fitting professionals there. Second opinions are always the best.
