  1. i think best rout is .......

first u go to delhi by plane.

    then agra by train.

    then varanasi by train.

    then nainital by bus.

  2. You can visit by train this is the best way to travel and if your budget is good you can take flight and if you need accommodaton for these places you can vivist http://www.holidayclubindia.net/

  3. best mode is train...

Since there is floods in north india now...plan ur trip by september october.. Book a a.c third class ticket...

    It is economical and best!

  4. If time is not in short supply, train journey in two tier A/C

is comfortable, interesting and informative. Route options

    are numerous.

  5. I would suggest to visit Delhi first; you can opt for Air travel as it is quite cheap these days and you have number of flights to and from Chennai.

After that you should visit Nainital and come back to Delhi.

then you can tour Agra (might be interested in other places around Agra like fatehpur sikri etc)  and then head for Varanasi.

You can then take return flight to Chennai from Varanasi.

Air travel will save a lot much travel time and you can get more time for site visit.

If this does not fit the budget; then you need to opt for Railways however you then need to have spare time or tight schedule for journey.

  6. Keeping in mind the least of travel hassles, multiplicity of travel options at various prices, convenience of travel frequency and quick connections for the destinations you mentioned, you should make Delhi as your focal point to travel to Nainital, Agra and Varanasi.

Land up in Delhi first, visit Nainital or Agra, whichever you like first and second. To Delhi from Chennai, depending upon your budget and time, you can choose to travel by Rail or Air. From Delhi to Nainital, you have options to travel partially by rail and road OR the entire stretch by road. Same way, from Delhi you have plenty of options to travel to Agra by Rail or Road. From Agra, you may either move on to Varanasi by rail (don't even think of traveling this stretch by road though you have this option too) OR get back to Delhi and go to Varanasi from Delhi by Rail or Air.

Well plan your trip with bookings in advance for the Rail or Air journey you decide to undertake for any stretch or part. These bookings can conveniently be had from Chennai itself even through internet or good travel agent. For road journey part or stretches, instant bookings can be had once you land up in Delhi. State Transport operators or reputed private travel operators are plenty in number in Delhi to cover your road journey to Nainital and Agra.

  7. Air travel is not as cheap as jbmanoj suggests. They only put a lesser price in internet and write +taxes and when we actually click to book, the price mentioned is only half or less than half of the money actually we have to pay. I had this experience only recently, to be exact 10days before. train journey is best advised.
