From dv tape to mp3?

Question

I have footage from a DV tape that I want to convert to mp3s-

how can I do this? Through my VCR? or iMovie? or Quicktime (not Quicktime Pro- I don't have this)? or iTunes? or Garageband?

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

First you need to pass it to your computer. Then convert it into the format that you want if the program that you used to read it does not do that.
