From home school to public school

I am going to highschool this year and i was wondering:do the teachers like in math or whatever ever directly call on you to answer a question?

Always do your math homework! They do sometimes randomly call on you! But they mostly pick "favourites" and choose those kids most of the time.

Generally, teachers will often call on someone who has his or her hand raised, but will often call on someone who is clearly not paying attention.
