From seattle, is it cheaper to go to asia or europe?

i would be traveling in June 2009. wanting to spend 2 or 3 weeks on vacation. overall (cost of train/plane, food, drinks,hotel,tourist places and other spending) would it be cheaper to go to places in asia(any suggestions?) or europe(suggestions?).

whats safer for a mother(57) and her son (17) to travel in

asia will be cheaper because its closer. Almost has closer ways for connecting flights. food in eurpoe is alot more expensive. And alot of places in asia (mostly South east asia) is still developing

I can't give you any directions, but Asia will be much cheaper without a doubt. Europe is sooooo expensive.

Both are hella expensive.  The dollar exchange value is awful right now because we are in a recession.
