If you're a Type 1 diabetic, you can get it almost from teh day youwere born.

Diabetic Neuropathy (this is what it is called) has nothing to do with yout AGE,  It depends on how serious your diabetes is, and how long you've had it.

In fact, neuropathy is most often the complaint that people go to the doctor about when they find out that they are diabetic. ("My feet hurt, and I don't know why . . . .")  Many doctors think that most Type 2 diabetics have been diabetic for 5-7 YEARS before they are diagnosed.

However, if you get treated early, and follow your doctors order exactly, you might NEVER get neuropathy.
