Online free books  cannot publish any texts still in copyright. This generally means that the texts are taken from books published pre-1923. (It's more complicated than that, as our Copyright Page explains, but 1923 is a good first rule-of-thumb for the U.S.A.)

Asimov is under copyright protection as are most authors nowadays...

You could try a peer-to-peer program though...

Here's a site with free e-books...all the titles on this site are no longer under copyright...

Cory Doctorow has all his books as free ebooks.
