  1. The only references I found to its origin refer to the dish as a recipe from Paris, and more specifically a specialty of Iles de France.


  2. probably paris,one might think that the name would come from the word navat,which is the french word for turnip.this dish is a lamb dish that may also use the tongue,and always contains root vegtables such as navat,carrots,parsnips.
