My baby is now qualified for front facing car seat. He is our only child for now and we have a sedan. All 3 seats in the back has shoulder straps with auto locks. My question is where should be the car seat be? Behind the driver seat? in the middle seat? or behind the passenger seat?

  1. Behind the passenger seat, as this means you are not in the road when putting or taking the child out of the car.

The only disadvantage of this is that because you can see the child more easily from the driving seat, there is a greater chance of you taking your eyes off the road when driving if you child attracts your attention by crying.

  2. The middle of the rear seat is the safest place for your child, it has the highest crumple zone rating in the vehicle.

  3. Middle seat.  Seat back failures are common in accidents.  Therefore, your child would have the least likely chance of being hit by one of your seats.  In fact, I was in an auto accident with a Ford Taurus and the passenger seat broke without a passenger being in it.
