My front loading (kenmore) washing machine runs fine, fills and drains during the cycle, but then when it sits for a little while it fills with clean water. I imagine there is a leak in the fill line somehow. After going away for a weekend we came back and found it with a maybe 10 of gallons of water in the bottom. The usual amount is around a few cups full which can build up within hours of use. Usually I re-run the spin if this happens and it clears it out. How could this be fixed permanently?

  1. If you read the book on this equipment they always tell you to shut off the water supply to the washer when not in use, this is the reason why. Also one of the hoses can break at any time.

Like what was said before the water valve inside the machine is leaking like a faucet. If you turn the water of after use you will be ok if you do not want to do this you need the water valve changed.

  2. Your fill valve is going bad and should be replaced. This is something you could possibly do your self if you are willing to try.Turn off the water supply to the machine unhook the hoses, then remove the back of the machine and locate the fill valve it will be one piece hot and cold both before removing check with your local parts store and purchase the new one this will help you see how it should be done just remove the old one and install the new.

  3. our kenmore had a lot of problems.

we just replaced it with a samsung front loading washer.

its not worth all th time and cost of repairing it everytime something goes wrong.
