When I'm trying to do a 360 off a kicker, I pop or ollie before I spin which is what your supposed to do, but when I pop off the kicker, my body won't let me spin a 360 or sometimes not even spin at all, can just going off the jump and not doing an ollie before the jump help me spin a 360, any other ideas. Thanks

  1. (frontside) regular

Where you look decides where you go (keep that in mind)

Coming into the jump turn your shoulders away from the jump.

Just before you take off turn your upper body quickly towards the jump.

As your board leaves the jump your upper body should be cranked as much as possible then twist / crank your legs to make them lead (all while looking into the spin towards your landing.)

If you swing your arms out as you crank your body on takeoff and tuck them in you spin faster, then spread them out again to slow your spin down for landing.

On landing to help control keep your upper body turning a bit into the spin...dont just drop like a stone because you will probably enter a spin upon landing.

Some people spin faster on backside because your back faces the bottom first so you naturally wanna see where your going so you tend to spin faster...for some people its not like that they block when doing backside because they cant see where there going...try 180's and see which is more natural for you...and try a 360 while jumping on the ground, analyse how you do it and repeat on jump as per normal.

    ENJOY

  2. To get your board to spin, you need to have one edge in the snow.  Think about it: you need something solid to push off of.  If you don't have an edge set, your board will just slide (Newtons third law?).  So try this, for your FS 3, go up the jump on your toe edge or flat.  Just before the top as you are winding up change to your heel edge.  Pop off the heel edge during your unwind - you will get more spin this way.  Good luck.

  3. 1.Alright i had the same problem when i was learning FS three's last year. The main thing that helped me is the set up before actually hitting the kicker, if you are regular footed, when coming up the jump about 15 feet away from the jump take a slight heel side turn. When you begin getting closer the the lip take a slight toe side turn and BEND your knees.

                2. When you get like a boards way away from the lip lean on your heels, when you hit the lip pop off your knees kinda like an ollie but pop both legs(coming off your heels) at basically the same time with your front like .2 seconds first lol. Make sure your looking over your leading shoulder.(crucial try doing a 360 on the ground without looking over your shoulders its pretty tough)

Overview: Heel Toe Heel think about that when going to the jump.

Look over your shoulders(akward at first but becomes natural later)

all of those tips should really help you get the spin down. the main thing i should pf been doing was committing i would flake out when i hit the lip and not look over my shoulder and try to spin. Be confident and picture you landing the three before you do it, also snowboard as laid back as possible in comps when i'm nervous i do horrible the more laid back i am the better i ride.
