Another Q: Would i be considered a decent surfer if i could do this after only four months of surfing?

If you can do that after only 4 months I would say you are full on rockin'.

It really depends on each person's ability.  I honestly don't remember how long it took me to learn anything as I'm inconsistent with how often I surf.  As a kid, I did it almost everyday.  Now, I can't thanks to 9-5 work.  And I've been surfing since I can remember.

Realistically, no one can learn a trick like that in only four months of surfing.  You'd be lucky enough to learn how to link turns at that early beginning stage of surfing.  It truly depends on your understanding of where you're surfing, how your body works in any move, and what your board is capable of.

Learn to read what a wave is doing... learn what your board feels like under your feet.

If you can learn to do this trick after only four months of surfing, you should go pro.  Honestly, no one does that in four months going from never even touching a surfboard to learning how to catch a wave and turn on it.
